What we collect, and why.
Short version: only what a tutor actually needs to teach your kid. You can delete everything from your dashboard any time.
What we collect
- Your email, first name, and (optional) phone number.
- For your kid: first name, grade, free-form interests, and optional notes you choose to share ("loves dinosaurs, gets frustrated with long division").
- Sessions you book and the tutor you book them with.
- Reviews you write after a session. Reviews are public with your first name only.
Why we collect it
To match your kid with a tutor and keep the schedule straight. That's it. We do not use your kid's data to train AI. We do not sell data. We use the Meta Pixel on our public marketing pages so we can measure how parents found us — it never sees your kid's name, grade, notes, or any logged-in account information. Once you sign up, no third-party ad networks see what you do inside the app.
Who sees it
Only the tutor you book, and the Apna Tutor admin team. Tutors only see your kid's first name, grade, interests, and the notes you shared with that tutor. Notes are kept private — the database is configured to never return them to public profile pages, search results, or any other tutor.
How long we keep it
As long as you keep an account with us. When you delete your account, we hard-delete your kids, sessions, payments, reviews, and messages. There is no soft-delete hiding behind the scenes.
Deleting your data
Go to your parent dashboard and use the "Delete my account" link at the bottom. Everything goes in one step.
Kids under 13
Apna Tutor is a service parents use on behalf of their kid. Kids do not have their own logins. For the full COPPA posture, see the COPPA page.
